Noisy but effeicient, February 2, 2012 By This review is from: GE GTWN4950LWS 27 Top-Load Washer 3.6 cu. ft. Capacity It sounds like a plane taking off. Not loud, but not a noise you would associate with a washing machine. I always use the extended spin cycle and it leaves the cloths wrinkly, but that doesn't bother me. I just shake them before I hand them up to dry. I've owned this machine for over 3 years and never had a problem.

Capacity We opted to purchase a new washer because our old one was leaving black stuff on our clothes. I don't like the design of this washer at all. The water will not run with the lid up (like my old washer did), so it is difficult to add the detergent to the water. The clothes come out very wrinkled. My biggest problem is that the end of cycle signal is barely audible. My old washer I could hear buzz, but this one forget it, a very quiet ding, ding. Also the cycle runs very long around 45 minutes.
