Don't waste your money, April 4, 2011 By This review is from: Maytag MVWB450WQ 28 5 cu. Ft. Top-Loader Washer - White We purchased the 5.0 cu ft Maytag Bravos washer January 2, 2011. The unit was delivered and installed three weeks later. This in not the steam washer. The machine tangles clothing into such a mess everything has to be put in the dryer prior to hanging up to dry. Even with the use of pre-treatment many stains remain on our clothing and there are pin holes in cotton garments. I am extremely careful to zip zippers and still there are holes that occur. I consult the owner's manual to determine what setting is correct for the type of wash I am doing and am careful to load clothing as necessary. This washer is now leaving what appears to be streaks of rust on our clothing. A service company in our area is coming Thursday to look at the washer. I am extremely dissatisfied with this washer and would never purchase a Maytag product again. I can't believe all the work required to use this washer and want this thing gone.

Top-Loader Washer - White I didnt quite understand why people complained about the washer tangling clothing and leaving them a wrinkled mess, until i bought a pair, and the dryer 'stopped heating' THREE TIMES. every time we had to call service, i was forced to hang all my clothes- that's when i learned about the wrinkled, tangled mess they become. if you are just whisking the clothing straight in to the dryer, you would hardly notice, but if you hang anything? watch out! ALL of my t-shirts are a stretched mess and can not be worn unless they go through the dryer first (which, at the present time, is yet at again- broken!) i was very, very disappointed. please save yourself the stress.
(the problem with the matching dryer (7.3) is that the gas safety shut off keeps triggering. the dryer seems to think it's over heating, and shuts off the gas to the dryer. the first time this happened, we simply got the machine replaced. the second time, we got it repaired. now i told them to get this hunk of junk out... Very satisfactory replacement for previous Maytag Neptune, November 2, 2011 This review is from: Maytag MVWB450WQ 28 5 cu. Ft. Top-Loader Washer - White We purchased this washer in August, 2011, to replace a 13 year old Maytag Neptune dryer.
It has worked excellently and we have had no problems or complaints. I have seen the other Amazon comments regarding clothes being tangled, and to be honest we have not had this problem. In fact I decided to write this review in order to provide a contrasting point of view, because I feel that the rating of this product should be higher than those other reviews would suggest.
I have also taken a quick look at other reviews on Amazon for Maytag washers with this same agitator design, and I do not see a concensus regarding problems, which also makes me feel that the experience reported by others using this model is not necessarily what everyone should expect.
