This Whirlpool Cabrio is a Piece of JUNK, February 8, 2008 By I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio December 2006 from Lowe's ( LOWES ) in Kentlands Maryland. The machine worked for about 9 months and I haven't been able to use my washing machine since October 2007. Every part in the machine has basically been replaced at least once if not twice. Whirlpool has a problem ...and they refuse to fix the problem. They will send a factory repairman and he doesn't do anything. He claims that he fixed it by having the computer simulate an actual wash cycle. It is never fixed; when your warranty expires...that's it. The repairman told me there is nothing more that can be done and Whirlpool claims that its been fixed. Lowes is also worthless... they just spin you off to Whirlpool.
What should we do about it???
First, continuously encourage Whirlpool to do what's right and recall a defective machine.
Second, as long as Whirlpool continues to do this, make certain that every Cabrio owner knows of the problem before paying... Read more

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6200SW washing maching, June 3, 2008 By This review is from: Whirlpool : Cabrio Series 28 inch Top Load Washer : White The agitator is poorly designed. The `fins' at the bottom of the agitator are not solidly attached to the agitator unit base but instead, are flexible and allowed to flap back and forth as the agitator cycles back and forth.
The problem with this design is that there is a gap between the fins and the the bottom of the agitator unit and the fins catch certain items of clothing, especially anything with a shoulder strap or pull string. The clothing becomes entangled in the gap and then and tightly wraps itself around the vertical auger shaft. The trapped items of clothing also drag other items of clothing along with them, entangling them around the auger as well. This creates a tightly wound `knot ball' around the auger which is difficult and time consuming to untangle.
This situation is a common occurrence for us and has ruined several items of clothing.

DONT. Water saver it boasts...that cause it DOESNT WASH YOUR CLOTHES! You can put a sweater, shirt -by itself..and take it out hold it up in the light, and parts are still dry and dirty. Very reliable at being unreliable. It pulls and stretches your clothes, and makes everything a wrinkled ball. I can not state what a piece of junk this truely is. AND the company probably agrees, because i called service out 4 times (yes i did!) and they have a test to make sure it shoots out enough water or something, and tells me its fine, no fixing. Oh, its not fine! i even showed the tech the clothes...he shaked his head and he said his hands are tied.
it was not fine the first week i bought it, and ABC Warehouse or the company does not care. I am stuck until i can afford another, and then i will feel too guilty about selling it to somebody else-but then what,-sell a $700 washer for scrap metal?
